The heritage and legacy of our company began in February 1957 when Lester Kelley and his two oldest sons, Hollis and Everette, opened the doors to what was initially called Elba Packing Company. Lester had been a livestock trader, and during his travels, he would also peddle sausage that he made at home from his own special recipe. With the start of their company, they began producing this sausage commercially and sold it initially under the brand “Elba”. They took such pride in their sausage that they soon changed the brand to “Kelley’s” to more personally identify their quality in the market. Several years later, we changed the name of our company to Kelley Foods of Alabama, Inc. to better identify with our brand and our business, because the pride and devotion of the original founders continues still in our people, the Kelley Foods team.
Today, our Mission is to produce and market high quality food products that provide “A Great Tastin′ Sensation®” for the consumer and growth opportunities for our customers, with an honest commitment to our team members and heritage.
Kelley’s proudly offers a quality selection of Smoked Sausages, Fresh Sausages, Hams, Bacon, Hot Dogs and more. Our products are seasoned with select herbs and spices to provide the distinct Kelley’s flavor, and our smoked products are slowly smoked with natural hardwoods (no liquid smoke here) to give them their golden brown color and succulent taste that is Kelley’s, “A Great Tastin′ Sensation®”. Our variety enables you to expand your dining experience with our specialty Chorizo, Andouille, Italian, and Polish sausage products as well.
